A Bridge Across Time

“A Bridge Across Time” is a wayfinding project aimed at connecting spaces within the National Gallery of Denmark.

Through the simple use of a Zoom call set up in two of the museum’s very different buildings (one displaying 18th century art and the other displaying modern art), visitors are able to immediately see there is more to explore within the museum, as well as communicate with other guests in a playful manner.

Collaboration between the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art, the National Gallery of Denmark (the country’s largest museum) and Parsons School of Design. SMK x KADK x Parsons.

  • It’s difficult to fully anticipate things that can go wrong until you launch an installation in a big public space like the SMK.

  • Linking the museum’s API to its live contents.

  • Simple solutions are the most effective.
